Entering awards is a great link building tactic - and it's easy to find awards and give yourself a good chance of winning. Rachel Meranus gives some tips on Entrepreneur.com.

Even entering awards and making the short list of finalists is a great networking opportunity and in itself can lead say to local media coverage. Going on to win often brings national attention.

- Be selective
- Promote your award.
