With Google’s mobile index just around the corner, the search engine is encouraging webmasters to focus on getting site speeds up to scratch with two new benchmarking tools.
The Mobile Speed Scorecard allows you to see how your site measures up compared to the competition on mobile, while the Impact Calculator illustrates in clear dollar terms the effect even a small speed improvement can have on the bottom line.
Fast loading is a key component for good user experience and Google has confirmed that page speed will be a ranking factor for mobile searches from July. Google says:
53% of visits are abandoned if a mobile site takes more than three seconds to load, according to Google data from 2016.
